Pheasant (Lady Amherst’s)
The Lady Amherst’s pheasant is one of the most striking birds on the planet. These long-tailed ground birds are native to forests and woodlands in Southeast Asia. As with most other pheasants, the males are larger and more colorful than the females. This species was named after the wife of British Governor-General of India, William Pitt, 1st Earl Amherst, who introduced the bird to England in 1828.
