Safari Park Positions:
- Admissions Cashier: Verify guest check-in, sell admission, feed, and souvenir cups. Distribute park map and animal ID checklist. Be knowledgeable about Hidden Valley’s offerings and operations. Qualifications: Positive personality, polite, well-spoken, and punctual. Excellent math and good communication skills. Able to operate point-of-sale and iPad reservation system. This is a customer service position.
- Small Animal Adventure Attendant - Cashier: Greet and verify guests prior to entry into SAA, sell carrot feed, souvenir cups, beverages, etc., Instruct guests to follow SAA rules, monitor guest and animal behavior ensuring safety for all. Comply with all safety protocols. Assist with animal watering and animal main barn area cleanup at end of shift. Qualifications: Polite, well-spoken, require little supervision to stay on task, positive personality and punctual. Excellent math and good communication skills. Able to operate point-of-sale and iPad reservation system. This is a customer service position.
- Guest Services @ Front Desk: Assist guests in person and on the phone. Assist staff, multi-task to complete various job duties. Book onsite Safari Bus guest reservations. Sell onsite game meat. Qualifications: Positive personality, polite, well-spoken, and punctual. Excellent math and time management skills. Able to operate point-of-sale and iPad reservation system. Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential in this customer-focused position.
- Small Animal Adventure Animal Welfare Caretaker (before opening or near closing): Clean SAA animal stalls, sheds, fenced pens, and SAA public walking areas; clean auto waterers, water pails, and water animals. Maintain SAA for guest and animal safety. Comply with all safety protocols. Qualifications: Self-motivated, require little supervision to stay on task, ability to take direction and perform tasks in a time-efficient manner. Attention to detail is a must. Work with Animal Welfare Caretaker to complete tasks before opening for guests. This is an animal welfare-focused position.
- Trading Post Gift Shop Retail Cashier: Assist guests with gift shop purchases, stock shelves, maintain a clean & organized store. Assist guests with purchase of fish food. Keep area clean outside the Trading Post. Be knowledgeable about Hidden Valley operations to enhance guest experience. Qualifications: Polite, well-spoken, require little supervision to stay on task, positive personality, and punctual. Excellent math and good communication skills. Able to operate point-of-sale system. Attention to detail is a must. This is a customer service position.
- Safari Bus Driver-Guide: Greet and check-in guests, handle and sell animal feed, load guests on and off the bus. Educate guests on the Park animals and their stories, and share our founder’s story. Monitor guests throughout the tour, maintaining a safe tour for our guests and the animals. Comply with all safety protocols. Qualifications: Ability to safely drive the bus through the Park trail and cattle guard gates; ability to understand the maintenance needs of the bus and do equipment checks. Must be self-motivated, polite, and well-spoken; require little supervision to stay on task, have a positive personality and be punctual. Requires ability to prioritize tasks for best time management to stay on schedule. Need excellent math and good communication skills. This is a customer-focused position.
- Animal Welfare Caretaker (AM and/or PM shifts): Follow instructions to feed, water, and maintain habitat for animals outside the Park (SAA, the pond enclosure, Black Belly exhibit, the farm male donkeys-horses) and inside the Park as directed. Ability to work with and handle small animals in guest areas; observe, monitor, and report on animal health. Qualifications: Self-motivated, require little supervision to stay on task, ability to take direction and perform tasks in a time-efficient manner. Strong communication skills, verbal & written. Positive personality and punctual. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to work with others on the Hidden Valley team is essential. This is an animal welfare-focused position.
- Trailside Grill Concessions Food Service Order Taker and Cashier: Assist guests with ice cream, beverage, and food orders; stock product, maintain clean work area during shift; complete restaurant opening and closing tasks. Be knowledgeable about Hidden Valley operations to enhance guest experience. Qualifications: Polite, well-spoken, positive personality and punctual. Excellent math and good communication skills. Able to operate point-of-sale system. Attention to detail is a must. This is a customer service position.
Event Service Positions:
- Banquet Houseman: Move tables and chairs to set the banquet room for an event. Set tables as required per event - glassware, china, silverware, napkins. Set up additional tables as needed. Qualifications: Team worker, positive personality, and punctual. Able to lift up to 25 pounds. An eye and passion for detail is a must.
- Banquet Bartender: Prepare and serve beverages at special events in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, and make sure that the patrons receive an extraordinary guest service. Maintain bar area. Follow safe alcohol service standards, handle cash and credit transactions, and respond appropriately when guests violate the stipulated laws and regulations. Qualifications: Positive personality and punctual attendance. Polite, well-spoken, and good customer service communication skills. Mixology experience, physical dexterity, and knowledge of alcoholic beverages. Basic understanding of math to craft drinks and handle money dealings; Able to operate point-of-sale system. Attention to detail is a must. This is a customer service position.
Maintenance Positions:
- Building Cleaner: Responsible for all basic cleaning to maintain a clean, sanitary environment in The Lodge, Trailside Grill, hotel rooms, offices, restrooms, and outside areas – patio, veranda, and walkways. Entails dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning smudges off windows and doors. Ensures restrooms are cleaned, sanitized, and restocked. Qualifications: Self-motivated, require little supervision to stay on task. Ability to perform tasks in a time-efficient manner. Positive personality and punctual attendance. High attention to detail is a must. Good stamina and health to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the shift. Open to qualified applicants with relevant experience.
- Landscape Gardener: Maintains landscape design integrity by removing weeds or dead plants from the grounds and caring for flowers, bushes, shrubs, and trees on the property. Maintains gardens including trimming, pruning, and raking. Waters plants and lawns and adds fertilizer as needed. Conduct general lawn maintenance duties to ensure the grounds are attractive, orderly, and healthy in order to provide a beautiful outdoor environment for our guests. Qualifications: Hardworking and dedicated. Positive personality and punctual attendance. Must be able to operate maintenance equipment, including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers. Strong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance. High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Good stamina and physical health to work outdoors for extended periods. Attention to detail is a must.
