Duck (Mallard)
The green head and yellow bill of the Mallard duck is a familiar sight. They are thought to be the most abundant and wide-ranging ducks on Earth. Mallards are “dabbling ducks.” They feed by floating on the water and tipping themselves forward to graze underwater.
Did you know…Mallard ducklings are led to water as soon as their soft, downy feathers are dry. They first fly about 2 months after hatching.
