Camel
Dromedary (Arabian) camels have only one hump and are the largest species of camel. These humps give camels their legendary ability to travel up to 100 desert miles without water. The hump stores up to 80 pounds of fat, which can break down into water and energy when food and water are not available. Camels rarely sweat so they can conserve fluids for long periods of time, sometimes weeks.
Did you know...when camels do refill, they soak up water like a sponge. A thirsty camel can drink 30 gallons of water in only 13 minutes.
