American Bison (White)

The white bison is the same species as the American Bison but possesses white fur as an adult instead of the normal dark brown colored fur. White bison may be albino, leucistic (white fur with blue eyes, instead of pink seen in albinos), or beefalo (a bison-cattle crossbreed where they inherit the white color from their cattle ancestry). White bison at Hidden Valley possess the Charolais SILV gene which gives them their cream (white) color.

Did you know...White buffalo are rare and considered to be sacred or spiritually significant to many Native American religions.
