Alpaca

The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal. It is similar to, and often confused with, the llama. However, alpacas are smaller than llamas and were bred specifically for their fleece (also known as wool or fur). Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items.

Did you know…if an alpaca is given too much nutritious food, the animal doesn’t get fat but instead the fleece gets thicker.
