Miniature Horse

Miniature horses are about the same size as large dogs and measure no more than 34 inches in height at the withers. Because of their build (proportions), they are considered horses, not ponies. Too small to ride, they are popular as companions, show horses, driving horses, and even serve as guide animals for people with visual disabilities.

Did you know...during the Renaissance, minis were bred as pets for European nobility, but many historically worked underground as pit ponies in Northern European coal mines due to their small size.
